The generational trauma of my ancestors Still store themselves within my teenage mind. I flinch at sudden movements of a cis white male And begin reciting my eulogy through my head. I did not get the chance to message my mother goodbye.

“Go back to where you came from!” already forgetting That their foundation was built upon the backs of The beated, bruised, and dark skinned.

The basic needs of human equality becomes A riot within the office and I am titled ignorant For speaking as a child with no opinions or Political views of their own.

The citizens of America have forgotten Their history and roots. Let those who are Minorities become an afterthought then they Question why we scream with sore throats.

I fear that our screams are not enough For the self-proclaimed geniuses. They have forgotten that this land Belongs to those beaten unjustly And they are unwanted residents.

We are often told to follow a certain norm prevalent in society, it’s like there’s this certain checklist or labels for something to be ‘perfect’. We wait for society to judge us, hanging on by a string of likes on our instagram page. But, do we really need others to define OUR perfect? Moreover, don’t our true selves lie beyond those rugged, old and boring standards? Hold yourself up and look in the mirror. Choose to be free.

Men’s Rights: Balancing the Gender Equation

Men’s Rights: Balancing the Gender Equation

We live in world where it is our right to fight for injustices we see happen to others or ourselves. We protest, we riot, we demand for change and in time, when we all come together, no one can oppress us. We create a spark through spreading information through articles like these, that inspires others to act. I, like may of you, have witnessed people being put down for nothing but their gender. If you believe in true gender equality, you must include all the variables in the equation, like the Men’s Right’s Movement, and hear the male side of the story.

RAPE, why is it normalized?

RAPE, why is it normalized?

RAPE,searches state that 91.6%of the world’s rape cases are left unreported, and this is one thing that hurts me the most, there are several reasons to why women do not report their rape,it can either be that they are ashamed, cultures, traditions and several more. If they are not going to speak up, it’s about we do! Mind you there are several types of rapes, some that have moved me quite a lot(payback rape,LGBTQ rape, custodial rape, gang rape, child rape, prison rape, serial rape, date rape). Hopefully having my poem on this site will open up a few eyes and declare victory for us women, and also establish a secure future for the kids playing hopscotch around town.
