I try….
I try so hard but people just don’t understand
That what’s inside of me,
is absolute chaos.
I am underwater
Gasping for air
drowning,
falling,
apart.
For after the calm,
Comes the raging waves.
I am the ghost,
Screaming for help in the shadows of darkness,
Screaming till my throat is raw,
But no one hears me,
For I am the face behind the mask.
I have found that online
It is easy to be cheerful,
It’s easy to pretend you are happy,
when all you are,
are just words on a screen.
Staring back at you.
But I am a monster,
A raging monster
Because no matter how hard I try,
No one understands,
That what’s inside of me
Is absolute chaos.

We Live in This Era…
I have started my graduation and was finally meeting a real-world, & understanding how it is and how we have to survive in this fictitious world & after moving to a city from a small town I realise that today generation, especially my age is suffering from all these things. They all are busy finding a soul mate or a lover to fight with their sorrow. We all stopped enjoying pretty little things in our life. Everyone is a hypocrite, following each other trends, & hiding their true personality & here I am who still believe in true love and trying to live a real life in this virtual world.
Insta Feed…The Addiction Of Society
This piece talks about the situation of migrant labourers in India during the outbreak of covid. There was a mass migration of labourers from urban areas to their native places and people basically walked thousands of miles to reach their home towns. Some of them didn’t even have slippers on their feet. There’s also a glimpse of other social workers working in these unfavourable conditions, putting their lives at risk, just so that we’re safe. Lastly, it talks about that certain hope that is engendered in such adversity of the better times to come.
Love this poem! This is a very heart touching poem, and I love the way you described this! This is a talented poem! Great job!
This is so beautiful. It really hits hard because in our society today we are often covered by a “mask” and in the process of hiding our flaws, we hide our reality. I think it’s lovely how you have expressed yourself through poetry. Many times we find ourselves battling with mental health, but we must always remember that no matter what outside forces — social media and others — do to us, we must always give importance to our mental health. Thank you for sharing such a personal piece.
Omg! I love this poem.
Thank you!
This is a beautiful attempt at poetry. Reminds me of a poem I had written. This is so well descripted. I’m in love with the line ”we’re just words on a screen.” Keep writing! More power to your words!!
Wow your words are so powerful and you are amazing at putting them together so beautifully. I would love to see more in the future!
This poem really shows that people put on what society wants and not what they want. They hide their true selves and are afraid to show it or can’t show it.
