Racism is a problem rooted in ancient history, but what is racism? Racism, by definition is “prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one’s own race is superior.” What racism really is, is the fear of something different than oneself. The fear of change. People now more than ever need to realize that we are more than our skin color and where we come from.
Recently there have been protests upon protests, for black lives. But some may have us believe they are riots, riots incited by the hurt and the wronged. Some may have us believe that the murder of George Floyd was an accident, a mishap, product of a heart attack, not cold-blooded murder worthy of the first degree.
I am here to educate you with the truth. I am also here to tell you that police officers are not all brutal. Police Officers around the world rally for the black lives matter movement. Determined to prove exactly that, I am here to tell you not all protests are violent. People in Frisco, Dallas and Allen have protested peacefully while socially distancing.
Black lives matter, yes, without a doubt. The lives of countless African Americans are in danger simply because our nation is too stubborn to allow change, and for that, we should feel shame for our nation. However one thing we should never forget, is that the black lives matter is more than just number one trending on instagram and twitter. Black lives matter, is a problem in society no one should have to face, and as time goes on we should strive to no longer protest death, but to celebrate life.
As people go on protesting it is important to remember that those of us who are not black, allow those who are, the space and time to speak their minds. It is important that we allow them to remain on the front lines and forever remain behind them. We must provide the means, platforms and the voice to speak up, because at the end of the day, we get to go home and they may not.

Underfunding of Public Defenders
You may have heard of miranda rights, more particularly this line,”You have the right to an attorney, if you do not have one, one will be provided for you.” Those lawyers that are provided to juveniles who simply don’t have the money to afford a lawyer are called public defenders. They are paid to defend a multitude of people at one time, case after case due to the major pay dock between private firms and public defenders.
Coerced confessions: Fact Or Fiction
It is the job of our esteemed detectives and police officers to catch the bad guys. But what if I told you there was such a thing as a coerced confession? A confessin that was forced from a suspect that is incorrect. Often during interrogation police target their suspect psychologically, hoping to force out a confession. But where does it end?

All lives matter. Thank you for addressing this timely and important subject with passion and aplomb.
With the recent events going on around the world about racism: social media influence, movements, and protests, it is important to realize that we need to change and not just fall for the illusion that people are doing everything that they can. It has been more than a hundred years after the Civil War and a couple of decades after Martin Luther King Jr. had guaranteed rights to all people. But again, we are letting history repeat itself and literally letting injustice happen everyday on the streets. This article allows readers to realize how important it is that we need to STOP racism. All lives matter and we need to do as much as we can to stop this cruelty by signing petitions, donating to foundations, and spreading awareness. Thank you author for using your platform to support the cause and showing support!
